The occupational health and safety policy is one of the elements of the organization’s business process planning and is used by the top management as a means of managing the organization in order to improve its activities.
The priority of MZOR OJSC is to ensure safe working conditions in order to protect the life, health and efficiency of employees in the production of high-quality products.
For implementation of this, the occupational health and safety management system certified for compliance with the requirements of STB 18001-2009 (certificate of conformity No. BY/112 05.04.092 02053 valid until 07.08.2021) operates in MZOR OJSC.
The occupational health and safety management system of MZOR OJSC covers the design, production, repair, upgrading of machines and the provision of services for the manufacture of metal products, which represents a systematic approach and continuous improvement of work on better working conditions, increase in safety, reduce of the risk of occupational injuries, occupational diseases, accidents and incidents, as well as improvement of relations with parties concerned on issues of compliance with standards and requirements in the field of occupational health and safety.
The occupational health and safety management system is a part of the general enterprise management system of the enterprise, responsible for a systematic approach to issues in the field of occupational health and safety in all areas of the plant’s production activities and is integrated into the processes of the quality management and environmental management systems. The occupational health and safety management system allows to achieve, systematically monitor and improve the level of safety of production activities.
Within the framework of the functioning occupational health and safety management system in MZOR OJSC, for improvement of working conditions, hazard identification and risk assessment, as well as workplace certification, are carried out during the inspection of workplace activities. The enterprise annually develops plans, programs and activities aimed at improving working conditions.
The effective functioning of the occupational health and safety management system in MZOR OJSC is ensured by support and leadership role of the top management. The management’s position in the field of occupational health and safety is set out in the Policy of the Enterprise in the field of Quality, Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Protection.
The objectives of MZOR OJSC in the field of occupational health and safety cover the following areas:
- • elimination (maximum reduction of levels) of risks caused by unfavorable factors of the production environment and the labor process;
- • elimination (maximum reduction of levels) of workplace injuries and reduction of the severity of its consequences;
- • elimination (maximum reduction of levels) of production-related and occupational diseases and loss of working time for these reasons;
- • elimination (maximum reduction of levels) of accidents and incidents at production facilities and material losses from them;
- • elimination (maximum reduction) of non-production costs caused by non-compliance with occupational health and safety requirements;
- • elimination (maximum reduction) of the number of violations of occupational health and safety requirements;
- • training and raising the level of knowledge in the field of occupational health and safety;
